One of the greatest benefits of working from home is having your office which you can set up and decorate as you please. However, sometimes things get out of hand, and suddenly your home office is not as efficient as you hoped it would be.
If you are struggling with how to organize your home office for maximum efficiency, you are at the right place.
Let’s dig in.
#1 ELIMINATE DISTRACTIONS: DON’T MIX BUSINESS AND PLEASURE
If you are taking your job seriously, you need to act like it. Just because your office is in the comfort of your home, it does not mean your office should be the same as your other rooms. It needs to be free of any potential distractions so you can focus on your job. Keep everything clean and minimalistic.
#2 INVEST IN A GOOD CHAIR
Since you will probably be sitting most of the time, it is important to have a good seating support. Uncomfortable chairs cause acute back pain and even headaches, which will further distract you from your work.
#3 MAKE SURE ALL YOUR DEVICES ARE UP-TO-DATE AND RELIABLE
For optimal efficiency of your home office, you also need to take care of your laptop, desktop, tablet, printer or any other device that you use on a daily basis. Make sure that your antivirus systems are regularly updated and that your computer is reliable and fast. Frequent technical glitches are frustrating and can seriously set you back for days.
Use the 5S system to organize your office. It uses visual labels to make it easier for you to organize, sort and maintain your workspace in order. The infographic explains the 5S System and how to implement it.
