Did you know that 50 Million people received concussions in North America last year, ONLY 5 Million were diagnosed and treated, and that 90% of ALL concussions are NOT known, reported, diagnosed or treated? And what makes it worse is that many children and adults are suffering from headaches, dizziness, nausea and vomiting and don’t know WHY, missing school and work and costing the system about $1 Billion per year.

That’s why I established SportFitz Inc. a wearable technology company, out of Waterloo, Ontario. We partnered with Urtech Manufacturing, Burlington Ontario, to contract manufacture brain injury wearable devices to measure, monitor and manage brain injuries. SportFitz will be showcasing the manufacturing of our patent-pending technology and the completion of the assembly including the board, accelerometers, gyroscope and gps. SportFitz wearable technology will deliver 12 measures of impact, the force of impact, time, date, position and gps AND alert each user in real-time.

As a serial entrepreneur, I learned to ask why a lot and always search for a problem to solve. I kept asking myself, is there a way other than off-ice spotter or a special protocol to determine if someone had suffered a concussion. I found the answer and developed SportFitz. SportFitz is a device worn behind the ear that will monitor, measure and report the movement of the head and the brain of an individual and detect an impact affecting the skull. This will help the medical team to detect concussion and deal with the injured individual as soon as possible preventing trauma.
